Sensitization on Open Defecation in Schools

Nkuringo Integrated Healthcare Organisation carried out a sensitization campaign in schools aimed at educating learners and teachers about the dangers of open defecation and poor sanitation practices.

Pupils were taught the importance of using latrines, washing hands with soap after toilet use, and keeping the school environment clean. The campaign emphasized that good hygiene in schools helps reduce diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and diarrhoea.

The activity encouraged learners to become hygiene ambassadors in their homes and communities, promoting a healthier and safer environment for all.

Denouncing Open Defecation in Churches

Nkuringo Integrated Healthcare Organisation conducted a sensitization activity in churches aimed at denouncing the practice of open defecation and promoting proper sanitation and hygiene among worshippers.

During the engagement, church members were educated on the importance of using latrines, maintaining clean surroundings, and practicing handwashing with soap as a way of preventing sanitation-related diseases.

Religious leaders were encouraged to support hygiene promotion messages within their congregations to help create healthier and more responsible communities.
